Our story

Shenandoah Ridge Farm & Orchard began with a simple vision: to grow honest food and build something that matters. What started as a small garden and a few chickens quickly grew into a labor of love rooted in hard work, sunshine, and a desire to serve our local community. Today, we offer farm-fresh produce, pasture-raised eggs, and bulk Angus beef shares—all grown or sourced with care, right here in East Tennessee. We believe in doing things the right way—no chemicals, no shortcuts, just real food from people who care.

Our history

Shenandoah Ridge Farm & Orchard began as a backyard project fueled by a love for the land and a desire to live more intentionally. What started with a handful of chickens, a small garden, and a dream has grown into a working farm that feeds our family, neighbors, and community. Over time, we expanded our offerings to include farm-fresh eggs, seasonal produce—all delivered with care and integrity. Every harvest, every delivery, and every seed planted is part of a bigger purpose: to reconnect people to their food and the hands that grow it.

Our Future

At Shenandoah Ridge Farm & Orchard, the word orchard in our name isn’t just a title — it’s a living commitment.

We’re building more than a farm. We’re cultivating a place where community, sustainability, and education grow side by side. Here’s where we are — and where we’re headed:

🍎 The Orchard Is Planted

The orchard is no longer just a plan — it’s in the ground.
We’ve planted 50 fruit trees, laying the foundation for apples, pears, peaches, and more. These trees are now in their establishment phase, focusing on root development and long-term health. In the coming seasons, they’ll begin producing fruit that will one day be shared with the community through pick-your-own harvests and local food access.

🐔 Growing Our Flock

To better serve our customers, neighbors, and local businesses, we’re planning to expand our chicken population. Increasing our flock allows us to provide more fresh eggs, reach new households, and support small businesses that value locally produced food. This growth is being approached intentionally, with animal welfare, sustainability, and quality always coming first.

🛒 Farm Storefront

A rustic farm store remains on the horizon. Our goal is a central place where you can find fresh eggs, seasonal produce, local meats, jams, honey, baked goods, and other farm and locally made goods — all in one welcoming space.

🧒 Youth Education & Employment

We believe in sowing seeds in people, too. We’re creating opportunities for local youth to work on the farm while learning practical skills in agriculture, responsibility, and small business operations.

🌻 Giving Back Through the SEED Initiative

Through our nonprofit SEED Initiative (Sustain, Educate, Empower, Develop), we’re committed to giving back — supporting scholarships, food donations, and local fire & rescue services as the farm grows.

🧑‍🌾 Farm Tours & Workshops

As the farm continues to develop, we plan to open our gates for tours, workshops, and seasonal events. From gardening and composting to understanding where food comes from, our goal is to educate, inspire, and connect.

🌿 Community Orchard Project

While the orchard is planted, the journey is just beginning. Continued support helps us care for the trees, expand production, and build infrastructure that allows this farm to serve the community for generations to come.
