An Average Day on the Farm

Sunrise greets us early here at Shenandoah Ridge Farm & Orchard. The morning begins with the soft clucking of hens as we scatter feed and check for fresh eggs tucked away in nesting boxes. The ducks waddle out to their pond, the high tunnels warm with the rising sun, and the garden stretches awake, ready to be watered with rain catch or nutrient-rich duck pond water. Each day brings new tasks — harvesting tomatoes or okra, pulling weeds, refilling feeders, checking on seedlings, or chatting with neighbors stopping by for produce. It's not always glamorous, but it's honest, hands-in-the-dirt kind of work that feeds our community and fills our hearts. Every photo we share is a real glimpse into the life we've chosen — one rooted in purpose, patience, and a deep love for what we grow.
